Registration still open for boat slips only. At the end of August, we all had our eyes to the sky and our ears to the forecast, and ultimately, most of us prepared ourselves and our boats for the coming of Hurricane Laura. In the end, it was a good practice run for what may come to our marinas one day. We dodged a bullet and were grateful! Unfortunately, our friends in Lake Charles took a major hit and well over a month later, they are still cleaning up. Port Arthur Yacht Club (PAYC) is hosting a fundraising event to benefit the LCYC. TMCA will be chipping in by having a cruising event which will be similar, although MUCH smaller in scale, to our always popular Spring Fling at Pleasure Island Marina. LET’S HELP OUR NEIGHBORS JUST A SHORT DRIVE/CRUISE AWAY!
The cruise will be 3 nights, October 23, 24, 25 for $100/slip at the Pleasure Island Marina.
You will have the opportunity to purchase (in advance) Friday and Saturday night catered dinners for $25 each, Saturday and Sunday light breakfast for $10 each, and Saturday sack lunch for $20 each. Children’s prices (under age 12) $10/dinner and sack lunch, No reduction for breakfast.
An outside dining and gathering area will be set up under a large tent, which is also where a Friday DJ will be set up and a Cajun live band will perform on Saturday evening.
Keg beer and rum (sponsored by PAYC) will be available with donations accepted.
Since TMCA’s annual wine tasting has been cancelled, TMCA will be pouring assorted wines both nights for donations. Please come prepared for “CASH ONLY” donations at the event.
Kona Ice will be on site Saturday afternoon and available for purchase. A portion of sales going to LCYC.
Wristbands will be issued to attendees purchasing meals. Guests will need to check in at PAYC Friday evening or Saturday morning to receive them.
PAYC reserves the right to verify the age of any individual wishing to visit the alcohol tents. Only attendees age 21 and up will be permitted.
Land yachts are encouraged to participate! Local hotels available in and around Port Arthur.
There is a limit of 65 boat slips available to TMCA as there are going to be other boats coming in for Two Step and Jitterbug Regattas. More details on that will be coming from PAYC if you are interested in participating.
Our deadline for registration is October 16. There will be choices regarding the food service to be made at the time of registration. The slip rental is for 3 nights inclusive of slip, water and power.
