12 boats registered, but 4 cancelled. 1 came for Friday only and 2 came on Saturday. So, we had 8 boats, and all had slips on E dock, which made for enjoyable dock time.

Most watched the tides and traveled without any issues. Friday was a bit windy and Sunday a bit rainy in the morning, but the sun came out for a pleasant trip home. The weather was mostly overcast of and on through the weekend, but the temps were enjoyably cool.
John & Chris Boswell joined me on One Mississippi for the cruise and it was such a joy to have them back with us. A small group enjoyed ‘docktails’ and snacks Friday night before sprinkles ran us into our boats. Everyone had dinner on their own and there wasn’t a band at Oneal’s, so we just listened to music on our boats and visited.
Saturday morning, we had ‘share-a-dish’ breakfast, which started a little late due to morning sprinkles.
We had several join us by land-yacht - Bron & Steve Lee trailered their dinghy and Ken & Kelly Hutchinson joined for a little dinghy exploring. Cindy Clark, Samantha, Charles and Linda also drove over and stayed in the hotel. Kevin & Vicki Berkebile and Janet Abraham arrived in time for Chili.
We all spent the day ‘chilin’ – visiting and laughing on the boat and dock, some ate lunch at O'Neal’s. Mid- afternoon we gathered for boating stories. I’m not sure how many were embellished … but, it was a nice way for all to get better acquainted. Lisa Welch brought Birthday cake to surprise Arthur as he was serenaded by the group.
That evening we had 8 entries for the chili tasting and all attendees voted for their favorite. David & Casey Embry Won! (it was probably the healthiest one) I told her that they would have to lead next year’s cruise and being new members, a look of panic washed over her, but I quickly relieved her. Unofficially, Charles & Linda determined that their chili was probably the worst and somehow that turned into hours of joking, laughing and threatening to remind them at future events. The night continued with friends crowding onto my boat and laughing at everything, reminding us of past years at Beason.
Sunday morning several boats departed early, while Awakening and One Mississippi had coffee, waiting for the rain to pass. The cruise home was very pleasant with sunshine and continuing conversations from the night before.
Thanks to all who attended and helped. A successful cruise is always a group effort. I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did.
