Celebrate Independence at Moody Gardens

Thirteen boats participated in the TMCA Independence Day Cruise to Moody Gardens. We arrived on Thursday the 4th, and delayed dock party to also the Sun would be lower on the horizon and allow the temperature to moderate. About half of the boats participated and appreciated the fine evening.

Friday we either went to the pool, or chilled in the pyramid exhibits. Come dinner time a good number of us to dinner at the Garden Cafe in Moody Gardens Hotel on the ground level. They offer and excellent buffet and short menu for those who wish to make a custom order. Following dinner we visited on various boats and enjoyed the evening.

Due to the forecasted close approach of Hurricane Beryl, most boat departed Saturday morning for home port. The water was smooth sailing and the way to Clear Lake with a good current. An afternoon squall greeted those who departed in the afternoon. Otherwise all were safely in home port by end of Day Sunday.
