Join TMCA for one of the premier cruises of the year - a trip up the Houston Ship Channel to Allen's Landing at the end of Main Street in downtown Houston. Due to the low bridges, this cruise is for power boats only - and many of the power boaters always invite their sailboat friends to come join them.
The trip is limited to 22 powerboats (powerboats will need to clear 25’ bridge & consistently cruise @ 8 knots). The number of boats may change - depending upon the length of the boats that sign up.
For our first timers, this is a trip we can only make with permission from the Coast Guard. We, TMCA, make this cruise once a year. It truly is a privilege to travel through the Houston Ship Channel, and dock in downtown Houston. This is an amazing, unique cruise! You'll start at the Fred Hartman Bridge, travel up into the Houston Ship Channel thru the security zone, past the Battleship Texas, San Jacinto Monument, the turning basin, and up into Buffalo Bayou. From there, it will be part green/part industrial into downtown Houston and Allen's Landing at the end of Main Street. To see the city skyline from this angle is breathtaking!
Allen’s Landing is located @ 1001 Commerce St. (at the end of Main Street), nestled next to Spaghetti Warehouse. For more information on Allen’s Landing go to the following website: www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WMRD6
We plan to depart below the Hartman Bridge @ 8:00 a.m SHARP. on Fri., 10/20/16. All boats must travel together from this point to Allen’s Landing, Coast Guard Rules; this applies on the return trip as well! You will be assigned a position in the boat lineup which will correspond to docking. The trip should take about 4hrs. It will take an hour or more to dock all the boats.
Cost of the trip will be $125 per boat which includes park fees, overnight security, Port-O-Can, music and misc. costs.
Passengers: We will need to submit information of everyone who will be on the cruise. Please use this form to complete the info. Absolute deadline to list travelers is September 23.
Want to go and no boat?? For those who would like to Cruise or attend trip to Allen’s Landing but need a boat ride, email Charles Parette firstname.lastname@example.org. Once, we have the list of power boaters, we will see who might have room for you to ride along with them. You can have a car waiting for you at Allen’s Landing, take the Metro back, or better plan stay at one of the area hotels.
Land yachts are welcome to party with us for any and all festivities.
