The almost-final TMCA cruise for 2017 will be across the bay over to Oak Island (Beason Marina at Double Bayou) for a fun event that the organizers call “Christmas on the Bayou”. I recently received more information on this event (poster below) from my Chambers County contacts, and I am now personally excited about participating in this event for a another year!
Last year the weather was horrible and caused this event to be cancelled entirely by the local organizers, but two years ago the weather was absolutely perfect for this cruise and we ended up with 12 boats participating, and everyone had a truly great time! I took a lot of photos that year, and they are arranged in an album on my flickr site at: https://www.flickr.com/photos/15251435@N08/albums/72157675080180551 . Please take a look to see how much fun both we, and also the locals had, and then consider signing up for this wonderful cruise.
The website registration feature will very soon be up and running for sign-ups and slip ayments and you can get to that page here: http://texasmariners.com/index.php?option=com_dtregister&view=event&layout=categorylist&controller=event&task=category&list1=2&list2=3&list3=5&list4=4&Itemid=241. (Note: even though it says that 18 slips are available at Beason, the local event organizers always need a couple of the slips for their use regarding the boat parade, and so we might only have 14 or 15 available for ourselves. So don't delay in getting signed up!!!) This event is of course for us dependent on good cruising weather out across the bay, but I have my fingers crossed that we will have a repeat of 2015's perfect weather!
