Cedar Bayou Trip September 30 - October 1
“Redfish Bon Voyage”
for the Harvest Moon Regatta Thursday October 5
Propose we leave Saturday morning at 9.00 am from CLCC 6 and give Red Bluff a wide birth entering the Houston Ship Channel somewhere between Marker 87 and 88 to the Cedar Bayou channel. For complete details on this trip see the extensive information in the TMCA Destination files Philip Kropf info and the TMCA Caveat. Cedar Bayou has a 54' MWH height restriction.
Once we arrive at the Cedar Bayou outlet channel allow Petite Fleur to put her anchor down and set it. Thereafter I propose we raft up with largest boats first SB and Port side and the smaller ones following further out side. In case it’s too windy for a raft up we anchor out individually, or if you like to dinghy over after anchoring, do as you like.
Anchortails at 4.30 pm followed by dinner say around 6.00 pm.
Paula will make a Chicken Curry and propose you bring a dish to share, a salad or desert or your favorite plate.
We break the raft up during twilight, so who needs can run his generator without problems during the night.
Sunday return to Clear Lake whenever you feel like it.
Petite Fleur, ice and weather serving, plans to add a few days to this trip. Our anchoring plans for walzing around the bay are fluid but something like the following: All depending on the weather what should be great at this time of the year and our fellow cruisers that would like to spend a few days on the Bay
Saturday: Cedar Bayou Outlet Channel
Sunday : Cedar Bayou Outlet Channel
Monday : HYC or Red Fish Island or Clearlake. Perhaps ….
Wednesday and Thursday Night: Redfish Island
To view all the boats going down to PA in the Houston Sail Boat Channel on Thursday Morning. We have done it now several times and it’s a sight to behold. Houston Sailboat channel at its best. Howling at a full moon at night.
Please call or email us if you need additional information, suggestions, things we forgot to mention etc.
It’s your weekend out on the bay, so let’s make sure it’s as good as we can get it.
